Under NULM, MEPMA at State Level has been implementing various poverty alleviation schemes through Women Empowerment. Urban poor are becoming Self Reliant through formulating them into SHGs & Federations providing livelihood opportunities and financial assistance.
The production centre located at Kurnool ULB is setting an example of Sustainable livelihood activity. It’s been a Community Resource Building transformed into Production centre facilitating 55 SHG tailors performing production activity of stitching the school uniforms and Jute Bags and been known as Bramharamba Jute Bags.
The 500 SHG tailors of Kurnool ULB trained through MEPMA formed into a society. Any one from this society can make use of this production Centre. MEPMA not only facilitated CRC Building as production centre to SHG Women but also provided financial support of Rs.25 lakh each through PMEGP loan to purchase Machinery. At present there are 55 machines to perform the stitching activity at production centre.
In December 2019, Brahmaramba production centre turned into four since establishment year. Another big achievement of this Bramharamba Jute Bags is that it bagged the project of Stitching and supplying of Jute Bags to historically renowned Srisailam Devasthanam temple for third Successive time. This project worth was Rs.1.90 crores and Bramharamba jute Bags supply the product on Monthly basis.
On this occasion, the SHG Women of the production centre conveyed hearty thanks to MEPMA and Hon’ble Mission Director Sri G.Srkr. Vijay Kumar, IAS., for extending support in every aspect. The SHG tailors of Bramharamba Jute Bags are setting an example of best Team Work and collaboration by earning an assured income of Rs.10,000/- to Rs.12,000/- per month.
